[00:00:00] Some emotions don't come from today. [00:00:03] They come from before, from years ago, from smaller versions of you who are not comforted, not heard, not seen. [00:00:14] And sometimes when you're triggered now, you're not reacting as an adult. [00:00:20] You're responding as the child who didn't feel safe, the child who didn't know what to do with all those feelings. [00:00:29] That's who we'll meet today. [00:00:31] And we'll do it gently, with respect, not force, with tapping, not talking them out of it. [00:00:41] Because this part of you doesn't need to be fixed. [00:00:45] It just needs to be felt and finally to be free. [00:00:52] What are emotional triggers anyway? [00:00:55] Well, a trigger is when your response is bigger than the moment deserves. [00:01:01] It's not weakness. [00:01:03] It's history. [00:01:05] When you're triggered, your brain is saying, this looks like something that hurt before. [00:01:12] Let's defend ourselves now, before it happens again. [00:01:17] And so your nervous system goes into protection mode. [00:01:21] Fight, Flight. Freeze. Fun. [00:01:27] And the adult version of you fades into the background while the younger you, the scared, overwhelmed, silenced one, steps forward. [00:01:38] That's the one we'll be working with in this lesson. [00:01:42] So what is the inner child? [00:01:45] Your inner child is not a metaphor. [00:01:49] It's a living memory of how you used to feel before you had words, before you had power, before you learned to protect yourself by shutting down. [00:02:00] That child still exists inside you. And the beautiful thing is that you are now the adult they needed. [00:02:08] You get to show up for them. [00:02:11] You get to say, I'm here now and I'm not going anywhere. [00:02:17] You might be tapping into an inner child wound. If you've ever felt deep, sudden shame that doesn't match the moment. [00:02:26] If you've ever felt abandonment, panic. [00:02:30] If you've ever felt hypersensitivity to rejection, fear of being too much or not enough, or a sense of being helpless when things go wrong. [00:02:43] These are echoes from a younger nervous system. [00:02:46] They're not bad. [00:02:48] They're signals. [00:02:49] And signals don't need to be silenced. They need to be acknowledged. [00:02:55] Imagine your emotional system like a room in a house. [00:02:59] When something triggers an old wound. [00:03:02] It's like someone turned on a faucet and. And forgot to turn it off. [00:03:08] Suddenly your calm space is flooded. You're overwhelmed. You can't think straight. [00:03:15] Eft is like opening the drain not to ignore the water, but to let it move out gently at your pace. [00:03:25] That's what we're going to do now. [00:03:29] Start by tapping on the side of your hand in the karate chop point and say to yourself, or out loud, even though I feel Overwhelmed. [00:03:40] Even though this feels bigger than it should, even though I don't understand why I'm reacting this way, I'm willing to listen to the part of me that's hurting. [00:03:54] And now the eight points. And we're going to pause between each one if you need to. [00:04:01] So on the eyebrow, tap there and say, this trigger feels huge on the side of your eye. [00:04:09] And say, I want to run or hide. [00:04:14] Under the eye. [00:04:16] Maybe this isn't about now. [00:04:20] Under the nose. [00:04:22] Maybe I've felt this before on the chin. [00:04:28] Maybe a younger part of me is speaking up. [00:04:32] The collarbone. [00:04:33] And I'm ready to listen. [00:04:37] Under the arm. [00:04:39] I don't have to silence them. [00:04:43] In the top of the head. [00:04:45] I can be the safety they never had. [00:04:51] Now let's do a round for the inner child. [00:04:55] We're going to tap the side of the hand again on the karate chop point while you're saying to yourself, or out loud, even though I've ignored my inner child, even though I thought I had to grow up and forget, even though I didn't know how to help them, I'm here now and I'm learning. [00:05:23] Now we're going to hit each of the eight points. [00:05:26] Start with the eyebrow. I see you now. [00:05:31] Side of the eye. [00:05:33] You didn't do anything wrong. [00:05:37] Under the eye, you were just little. [00:05:41] Under the nose, you were doing your best on the chin. [00:05:47] And I'm sorry no one told you it was okay to feel on the collarbone. [00:05:53] But now you're not alone anymore. [00:05:58] Under the arm. You're safe with me. [00:06:04] Top of the head on the crown. [00:06:06] I love you. [00:06:07] I've got you. And we're okay now. [00:06:14] Working with emotional triggers and inner child wounds can bring up intense feelings. [00:06:19] This doesn't mean that EFT is failing. [00:06:22] It means you're finally connecting. [00:06:25] Always stay grounded. [00:06:27] Take breaks if needed. [00:06:29] Drink water right after you tap. Keep journaling and reach out for support if something feels too big to hold alone. [00:06:39] You don't have to be a hero here. [00:06:41] You just have to be honest. [00:06:44] And EFT will meet you there. [00:06:49] Your practice for this lesson is to use one of the following prompts during your next tapping session. [00:06:59] I feel rejected when or I feel invisible when or I still carry shame from or. I wish someone had told me, Pick one of those four. You don't need to solve the memory. Just give it air, give it space, let it breathe, and let it release. [00:07:21] There's a version of you you left behind a long time ago. [00:07:27] Not because you didn't care, but because you didn't know how to help them. And now you do. [00:07:34] Every time you tap, you open the door just a little more. [00:07:39] And from behind that door, that child steps forward, sees you, and whispers. [00:07:46] You came back for me. [00:07:49] And you say. [00:07:50] I never really left. [00:07:52] I just didn't know how to listen. But I do know that's what healing sounds like. And that's exactly what you're doing. And I'll see you in the next lesson.
